Our plinths and wall display cases play a crucial role in bringing art and history to life. We have now developed a real passion for supporting museums in creating the perfect setting for their valuable collections. Transport of such displays to  museums all over Europe requires additional logistical skills, which we have also mastered. In this blog, we talk about our projects and collaboration with several European museums, and provide an insight into the challenges we have overcome to present their works of art.

Inspiring projects

Our products must integrate seamlessly into the setting of an exhibition. We work in close collaboration with the entire museum team – exhibition designers, curators, preservation department, engineers and technicians, bringing all their wishes and requirements together and implementing them in the project. We have had the honour of working with leading European museums including but not limited to Oslo National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design, Moco Museum Amsterdam, Dutch Open Air Museum and Maritime Museum of Denmark. As a supplier, we often face various challenges in the museum world - large formats, tight deadlines and complicated logistics. That is exactly what lights our fire! While a retailer or a private individual normally requires a plinth of 50 by 50 cm max, we regularly receive requests from museums for plinths and display cases measuring more than one meter on each dimension. The largest plinth with a matching display case that we recently made was for Museum Beelden aan Zee. This one was 12 meters long, made of 6 individual parts! We were also able to provide the matching acrylic display case for this enormous pedestal, perhaps the real feat of this project. In addition to custom production of plinths, our in-house production of display cases has now become an indispensable link in solving these types of challenging puzzles.

Everything is about perfect timing when it comes to preparing a museum exhibition. For example, it is crucial to be on time for an exhibition opening, without getting in the way of the previous exhibition. We therefore always ensure that everything is delivered on time and that every element, from a plinth to a work of art, fits together perfectly.

Solits throughout Europe

Our commitment to the museum projects goes a step further than manufacturing, and a step further than local deliveries. We do not only produce and deliver pedestals for museums in the Netherlands, but also always ensure safe transport to museums or exhibitions abroad. Our own drivers travel weekly from Wateringen to Scandinavia, the UK, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and France to personally deliver plinths and display cases for special projects. Thanks to our careful packaging and diligent, personal approach to shipping logistics, our plinths, wall display cases and display boxes always reach their destination without any damage and precisely on time.
