Westlands Museum
For the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Netherlands – with a special focus on the Westland region – a special exhibition was created. Ten significant objects illustrate ten war stories from Westland, with the aim of making history tangible and visible for visitors of all ages. For example, Kitty Dekkers' poetry album, featuring a poem by German soldiers, and Jochem van den Berg's diary, in which he describes his death march from Buchenwald concentration camp, are on display.
The Assignment
In order to display these valuable objects, we were asked to supply 10 plinths with display cases. It was crucial that each object shoul be displayed to its full potential, while the presentation as a whole would create a calm and cohesive picture.
The museum also highly values collaboration with local businesses. Based on this commitment and our experience with customized solutions, Solits was chosen as a reliable partner for this project.
The Execution
We supplied plinths in two different sizes, tailored to the size of the objects to be exhibited. To maintain a uniform appearance, all plinths are the same height of 85 cm, with 30 cm high perspex display cases on top.
What we supplied
10 white, matt plinths in two different sizes, including acrylic display cases, mounted on the plinths and secured with screws for extra safety
Compliments from the Westlands Museum
“As Westlands Museum, we create exhibitions on various themes, which always have a link to Westland. We were looking for beautiful, sturdy yet elegant display cases that we can use for multiple exhibitions. Solits supplied beautiful plinths with custom-made display cases with neutral and stylish look. They showcase our museum objects in the best possible way. We are very happy to have a professional company like Solits so close to us and hope to be able to work together often.”
